1. Embrace Uncertainty with Generosity
Life is full of uncertainty—storms come unexpectedly, trees fall where they will, and we cannot predict the future. But Ecclesiastes 11 calls us not to shrink back in fear or confusion. Instead, we’re urged to “send” and “give,” to live open-handedly and generously, even when we don’t know what’s coming. The uncertainties of life are not excuses for inaction—they are invitations to sow broadly, trust God, and live generously.

  • Where might fear of the unknown be keeping you from being generous or bold?
  • What would it look like to “sow generously” this week?

“The person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sows generously will also reap generously.” —2 Corinthians 9:6

2. Don’t Let the Unknown Paralyze You
Uncertainty can lead us to freeze, to wait until we’re 100% sure before taking action. But Scripture says clearly: “You don’t know which will succeed… so sow your seed in the morning and don’t let your hand rest in the evening.” God knows what we do not—and that is enough. Faithful living means moving forward even when we don’t have all the answers, trusting that God is at work.

  • Is there a step you’ve been hesitant to take because the outcome isn’t clear?
  • How does trusting in God’s sovereignty free you to act in faith today?

“Unless the Lord builds a house, its builders labor over it in vain… He gives sleep to the one He loves.” —Psalm 127:1–2

3. Live Boldly by Faith in the Lord
Ecclesiastes 11 ends with this profound truth: Life is a gift—meant to be enjoyed and lived boldly, but with eyes fixed on eternal things. We are reminded that God will bring all things into judgment, and the gospel gives us the joyful answer: Christ has satisfied that judgment. Because we are justified by faith in Jesus, we are free to live with purpose, joy, and bold faith.

  • What bold step might God be calling you to take in your season of life?
  • What gifts in your life are you overlooking instead of enjoying in a Godward way?

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God… they are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” —Romans 3:23–24
